Xmas 200 Ride....Done

A pretty tough day but thankfully the weather gods were with us. I suppose compared to the previous week’s -5c, 4-9c is practically tropical. We set off in the dark at 630am and it took a full hour before the sun came up then trucked on until 65kms in where breakfast called. A swift mini fry-up (surprisingly good for all day fuel) and we hit the road again at 10am. The course was a lot less lumpy than last time (even though it had 1722m) and we paid far more attention for fuelling and hydration, so neither Nick nor I had any issues this ride. We did squeeze in two further stops at 120km and 170km to take on liquid. Whilst legs were tired, there were no cramps and we both felt strong.

As long as the weather holds for the days we pick in Jan it should not represent additional pain.
